Take a look at what has been keeping me busy lately. Weddings near and far, creative side-projects and collaborations mean there is never a dull moment in the life of a wedding photographer.

Tessa + Jake – Rutherglen Wedding

A truly, fabulous and fun farm wedding for Tessa + Jake and their nearest and dearest at Tessa’s family farm in Cornishtown near Rutherglen, North East Victoria. Try looking through this gallery and not smiling (I’ll wait!) – the joy and heart of this day is all there! Candid, relaxed photography was what these two camera shy people really wanted and believe it or not 99.9% of my clients are nervous about the camera or the attention being on them for the day.

Weddings are super fun to plan and celebrate with your friends and family. I do realise that for a lot of my clients this is their first wedding or event that they are planning – and things can happen and there is a LOT of work, heart, soul and expense that goes into a wedding day. There are situations that crop up that can make the day well, crazy!!!! Do you want to be caught up in stress or do you want to completely submerge in the pure joy of this day and be fully present for your new spouse and guests?!

With all my clients, we do a lot of work in the wedding preplanning phase, working out the timeline, finding out the important details of the day so nothing is missed and keeping up the communications in the lead up so that unexpected situations such as weather or even the realisation in the weeks before or even on the day that “eeeekkkk I didn’t know exactly how much work goes into a wedding day” are not a problem and do not get in the way of fab photography or your wedding day experience – we simply switch gear into Plan B or Plan C….just go with it AND have fun with it!!!!!! I have a background in hospitality and events and know (from – sometimes bitter – experience) that planning ahead is the key to success!!!!

The Victorian High Country region is home to the most beautiful wedding locations from the Australian Alps to the Murray River, with our signature big skies and all the beautiful landscapes in between. I definitely work best with easy going couples who are looking for candid, unique and fun wedding photography. Relaxed wedding photography with minimum fuss and maximum style is what I bring to all my wedding clients!

Now I know you readers love a unique venue and imagery that is full of feels, insanely sophisticated styling, unique ideas and floor to ceiling floral arrangements so I wanted you to see this first!!!! Hot off the presses is a styled shoot done for the newest, hottest, amazingnest venue in Rutherglen and it is awesome and the owners of this incredible building are young and full of energy, have a great eye for style and will make sure the wedding experience for clients is end to end amazing and did I say that there is accommodation as well at this incredible venue….I mean if you are inviting your people from all corners of Australia (or even the world!) to come and celebrate together then this is the place! It has all the mod cons but also gives a nod (and a cheeky wink) to the history and character of this Rutherglen icon!

We had an awesome day – with a brilliant team of local suppliers that just have so much energy and passion for what they do – we had some help from fab metro friends Event Merchant Co. , the incredible Karen Willis Holmes, accessory goddesses Amelie George and new kids on the block Chandellier Rose!!!! We know that elopements and outfit changes are super hot atm and so we started out with a gorgeous suit and then literally slipped into party mode! Florals were a celebration of fresh and pretty by our favourite Thistle & Fern who we are so excited to say are getting back into wedding floristry. Soft greens, pinks and crisp white arrangements with grapes in the arrangements, foraged figs on the plates and clusters of gorgeous local quartz tell the story of the foundations of our community – gold, agriculture and grapes – way back in the mirage of the distant past when John Wallace shouted a drink at the bar if he could name the town after his home town in Scotland. Fresh pieces and umbrellas out the front of the building offer a beautiful contrast of contemporary and traditional, a really amazing contrast against the red bricks of the facade and shelter from the NE Victorian sun which loves to shine pretty much every day (sorry Melbourne but it does!!!!) Your guests can stand out here and take in the view over the vineyards and wonder at our big, blue skies!

I am so excited to be able to use such gorgeous pieces on these styled shoots it just lifts the imagery and thus the impact of the shoot to a whole other level. Having such an energetic team of suppliers – and such a gorgeous model – that are all so willing to collaborate is a dream! For wedding suppliers in regional Victoria simply because of distance it can be difficult to access gorgeous products for shoots and I think we show your readers that you can book all your vendors from this region and save big time on those travel costs which can go toward your bar bill on your honeymoon!!!!

Molly + Josh – Albury Wedding

Celebrating love as sweet as strawberry iced doughnuts!

Molly + Josh met through other friends and started off as mates and now consider themselves lucky enough to be marrying their best friend!!!!

For their wedding celebration, they wanted all their guests to have a great time, eat lots of food and dance the night away. Molly and Josh were looking for photography that was both natural and candid in style and that clearly showed the magic of their connection and all the heart of their wedding day.

I doughnut mind working with sweet people like Molly + Josh!!!!
