Alex + Tristan: A Love-Filled ‘Wedstival’ Celebration at Mount Ophir Estate
November 15, 2023
The excitement was palpable, the joy contagious, and the love undeniable. Working with this incredible couple, whose infectious energy radiated throughout the planning process and across their wedding day, was an absolute delight. Their vision for the big day was not just shared; it was a kaleidoscope of fun, warmth, and laughter. The date was set, the venue was chosen – the picturesque Mount Ophir Estate in Rutherglen, VIC, where love would bloom on Saturday 12th November, 2022.
From the initial consultation – via Zoom as they were still living in London, it was clear that this was going to be a wedding to remember. The couple’s personalities shone through – friendly, extroverted, and, above all, fun. Their enthusiasm for life and love for each other was evident, and it set the tone for a celebration that would be anything but ordinary.
The couple’s love story, woven over eight years, started at RMIT in Melbourne. Studying business brought them together, but it was a serendipitous night at Greensborough Football Club that changed everything. A spontaneous kiss turned into an inseparable bond, leading them to the beautiful moment of saying “I do.”
The proposal, a magical blend of romance and Christmas cheer, unfolded in front of Islington Town Hall in London. Illuminated by fairy lights, Tris asked the question that would solidify their love story. It was a moment of pure magic, and it set the stage for the ‘Wedstival’ celebration they had dreamed of.
As the couple embarked on the wedding planning journey, their focus was clear – they wanted a day filled with laughter, joy, and plenty of dancing. The ‘Wedstival’ theme perfectly captured their desire for a fun, loving atmosphere that would leave their guests with full bellies and sore feet from dancing the night away.
The couple’s love for food was a central theme, with Tris confessing to a sweet tooth and chocolate weakness, while his partner embraced her role as a self-confessed cheese-a-holic. The culinary delights were sure to be a highlight, ensuring that every guest’s palate would be satisfied. The team from Grace catered the event (their hospitality and food are always FABULOUS!), the wedding cake was made of cheese and at the end of the evening the Happy Cats Doughnut van pulled in and served guests gorgeous hot, sweet jam filled doughnuts!!!!
In the midst of the wedding preparations, the couple remained active and engaged with their friends and family. From BBQs and coffee dates to drinks in the sun and weekend trips, their love extended beyond just each other, creating a community of warmth and joy. Their shared love for organising a perfect weekend for their guests was evident, the plan for a weekend of socialising and squeezing out every drop of joy with their guests was planned. A Friday night meet up for guests at a local Rutherglen Wine Bar the evening before the wedding was planned and a Sunday recovery at Mount Ophir bookended the Wedstival Weekend.
As the big day approached, the couple’s anticipation mirrored the vibrant energy that characterised their relationship. The ‘Wedstival’ was not just a celebration of their love; it was a culmination of eight years of shared adventures, laughter, and growth.
The Mount Ophir Estate, with its scenic beauty, served as the perfect backdrop for this grand celebration. The day unfolded in a symphony of warmth, smiles, and candid moments captured by the lens. It was a big, busy wedding – loud, funny, and everything the couple had envisioned.
In the end, as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over Mount Ophir Estate, it was evident that this celebration wasn’t just a wedding; it was a testament to love, joy, and the beautiful journey this couple had embarked upon together.
The ‘Wedstival’ may have ended, but the memories created that day would live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to be a part of it. These two are surrounded by the most beautiful family and friends and the love for Alex + Tris and the joy for being present at this magic day was evident. Cheers to love, laughter, and a lifetime of Wedstival memories!
As a small business owner I fully appreciate the value of reviews and recommendations for my business. I am always grateful to be referred to a couple by a past client – it is the probably the biggest compliment that a wedding photographer can receive and I am so grateful to Nat & Trav for putting my name forward to their friends and to Alex + Tris thank you for trusting me with your wedding photography and for the beautiful review. Bless you.
