Show Your Personality They Said!

Over the last few months, I have been working behind the scenes on my biz – which is something I never get to do as I am always working in my biz. (In fact, I have come to the conclusion it may be time for a VA – send recommendations my way please!!!!!) This year has been challenging but I am a positively positive person by nature and always looking for a silver lining and the bright side. This situation gave me the gift of time. I had time to hang out with my family, enjoy a Saturday or two, work on fitness, work on some fabulous commercial photography projects, work on our cellar door plans, and set down solid goals and strategies for the future. It seems my biz is in good shape and so am I!!!!

I am my biz!

You see I am my biz. I am my brand. I have plenty of per-son-al-ity which helps people relax and that is how I get the good oil…you know those photos where people relax and connect. Candid. Natural. Unforced. Soulful. I am known for my photography style which has depth and emotion and connection and detail. My clients choose me because they want quality images delivered with minimal fuss and maximum style. With some time on my hands, I have been doing some more self-development and the feedback is to show yourself, show what you do, show how you are when working or with clients…..haha that is not that easy as I am usually concentrating on what I am doing which is giving of myself, taking the best photos for my clients and serving them…I am not really a show pony and so I don’t get photos of me…I actually don’t even think of getting photos of me!!!! But it is true that people hire people!

Behind the scenes

Anyhoo, so I had a styled shoot planned for a new venue in Chiltern with my fave team Gather Vintage Hire + Thistle & Fern Flowers – it is always easy working together and I always love the outcome. For the last 6 years, we have been working together making up weddings and creating stylish up to date imagery for contributing vendors to share and most importantly inspire couples planning their wedding. I thought to myself “you know what?! I will hire a photographer that I know and trust and get her to come and photograph the photographer doing what I love to do!!!!” It was weird to be on the other side of the camera but Andrea is a sweetheart and just goes about capturing the action as she sees it (she is sweet and kind and has a great eye!!!). This is me – I really care about what I do and the people I work for and with, I am vertically challenged, generous, focussed, friendly, approachable, occasionally hilarious and often allow myself to be just a bit silly!!!!
