The Anchorage – Luxury Accommodation at Lake Hume
December 10, 2019
Besides meeting my husband Ricky, photography is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I get to live a creative life and meet lots of different people and see different things. It is such a broad industry with plenty of variety. I love talking about photography to other photographers (not really tech more creative!!!), I love looking at their work and hearing their stories about what drives them. I believe in building community and am friends with a lot of photographers and creative types. Wedding photography is my absolute passion! 20 gorgeous, easy-going couples a year is my limit and I have to say I am thrilled to bits with the couples that I am lucky enough to work with – they are just beautiful people! Wedding photography gives me a chance to work with other creative businesses and there is just so much to gain from these networks as well as the opportunity to learn from each other. The people I work best with are the ones who are focussed on doing a great job for their clients and ensuring they deliver their services so the day runs smoothly – the professionals who really invest themselves and genuinely care how your day goes.
When I am not busy with weddings you can find me editing or doing collaborations with other suppliers, planning a wedding festival or photography for families, local food and wine type businesses or Air BNB’s. I absolutely love this type of work especially getting the opportunity to work with creative people who are great people to be around and also have great taste and styling ability. Recently, Sharriee Blair the owner of very successful local furniture hire and styling company Gather stepped into operating an Air BNB when she bought a little cottage at the Lake Hume Resort and set about transforming the place into a slice of paradise with an outdoor deck, a new kitchen, Hamptons styling and luxurious appointments such as French linen sheets to this 3 bedroom cottage. All this attention to detail and natural light is a joy to photograph. I fell in love with the plantation shutters and the window seat in the main bedroom.
The Anchorage is in the perfect location just out of Albury on Lake Hume for a weekend away or an overnight stay. With such beautiful styling and light it would be the perfect place to get ready for a wedding in the Albury area. And, once you are there it is only a two-minute walk to The Boathouse where you can indulge in the new menu and a list of fabulous drinks! There is a pool onsite as well that can be used by guests.
